This policy explains what personal data Muslim Family Hub collects when you use muslimfamilyhub.org, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. If you have any questions, email info@muslimfamilyhub.org.
Who we are
Muslim Family Hub (“we”, “us”) runs muslimfamilyhub.org and is responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us at info@muslimfamilyhub.org.
What we collect and why
When you buy a webinar
- Your email address becomes your account. We use it to give you access to what you bought, send you login links, and answer questions about your purchase.
- A record of your purchase: what you bought, when, the amount and currency, and the payment reference. We keep this to give you lifetime access and because we must keep financial records.
- Card details are never seen or stored by us. Payments are handled by Stripe on its own secure checkout page.
Our lawful basis is that we need this data to provide what you bought (contract), and to meet our legal obligations for financial records.
When you watch a webinar
Videos are streamed by Bunny.net. To deliver the video, Bunny.net processes your IP address and basic device information. Each viewing link is generated for your account and expires after a few hours.
When you contact us, submit an article or donate
We collect the details you enter in the form (such as your name, email address and message) so we can reply. Donations are processed by Stripe. If you tick the box to join our mailing list, we use your email address to send you updates, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
When you browse the site
We use Google Analytics and Matomo to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are read most. These tools collect information such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser. Our security software also records IP addresses to block attacks and failed login attempts.
Cookies
- Login cookies keep you logged in after you buy or use a login link. They are essential for the webinars to work.
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics and Matomo help us measure how the site is used.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block login cookies, you will not be able to watch webinars you have bought.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the services that help us run the site:
- Stripe: payments and donations (Stripe privacy policy)
- Bunny.net: video streaming (Bunny.net privacy policy)
- Google: Google Workspace for email, and Google Analytics (Google privacy policy)
- WPMU DEV: website hosting, security and Matomo analytics (WPMU DEV privacy policy)
- Luma: registration for upcoming live events, if you choose to register through the links on our webinars page (Luma privacy policy)
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Account and purchase records: for as long as you have access to your webinars, and at least six years after a purchase for financial record-keeping.
- Messages and form submissions: for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.
- Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your data, unless we have to keep it by law (for example, purchase records)
- stop or limit how we use it, or object to how we use it
- send your data to you or another organisation in a portable format
Email info@muslimfamilyhub.org and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
